In 1978 a former church on Main Street was opened as the Museum, and over the years, historic buildings were moved to the Museum grounds and refurbished, including three one-room school houses, a general store, a blacksmith shop, and the historic Hillygus Texaco station. Guided tours enthusiastically conducted by local volunteers.
