US-95 has the longest run of any major highway in Nevada, totalling 705 miles from the Oregon border at McDermitt to the California line about 20 miles east of Laughlin. It coincides with I-80 for 116 miles west from Winnemucca, and traverses eight counties (nine if you count the 76 miles of 95-A from Schurz to Fernley). Walker Lake sparkles beside it in the summer sun, and side roads lead to hidden treasures like Gabbs and Silver Peak.#EEE6DD

Some Highlights along US-95

The Humboldt Museum, a short distance north across the river from Winnemucca on US 95, contains an antique car collection and memorabilia from the pioneer west.

Walker Lake Country Club Friendly, inexpensive, uncrowded and unforgettable — golf here is pure pleasure. This cool green paradise is just north of Hawthorne on base headquarters.

Tonopah was always a tough town, just how tough can be seen at the old cemetery on the north end of town next to the Clown Motel. Here you'll find the graves of the men who worked the mines, marked with unpainted boards with pierced-tin memorials.

Mount Charleston is just a 45 minute drive from the Las Vegas Strip but it's a world apart. The pine-forested heights rise to nearly 12,000 ft. Campsites and hiking trails attract visitors to the cool summits in summertime, snow sports are the draw in winter.
